Mornings in New York

Waking up to the scent of brewed coffee and toasted butter bread attacking my nose.

The morning rays hitting my bare face, covering my eyes with white silky duvet that made me cozy all through the night. I paused for a while and stare at the Empire State Building from afar. Living on the 48th floor feels like I'm a little closer to the clouds. Busy cars and busy people, hot morning air blew their noises up above from where I was. I've never felt unproductive, the energy around me is making me so alive. Cucumber and vanilla patchouli scented shampoo filled the bathroom space as I cleansed my hair that smells like lavender and lily from the scented candle I lit last night. Sun rays filling the entire room making me a little blind as the light scatters on the marble floors. I have to pull down the white soft curtains leaving the blackout beige ones on the sides. Walking around with just my bathrobe making my way to corner where my record player is sitting next to dried statice flowers. It's time to fill this penthouse with music that soothes. Sipping my iced coffee while reading my sunday NY Times papers. Looking at the sky scrapers on my vision, above is a clear blue sky and below is a busy downtown full of adventures. It's sunday today, it's time to dress up and get ready for church. It is going to be a 10 minute walk down the central park to where I am heading, to thank and praise Him for giving me the life I only dream of when I was 20. 10 years ago, I never expected that I could really live the life I only imagined before. My mornings in New York feels like scenes straight out of the books.
